LCRP Vision

Louisiana Christian Rodeo Productions is a non-profit organization outreach for the purpose of allowing Christian youth, and adults the opportunity to complete in an all Christian-based rodeo presenting a Godly presence with the hope of others receiving Christ.

Our vision is to see the rodeo arena as a 2 1/2 hour Cowboy Church, conducting an awesome outreach ministry from behind the chutes to the stands.

It is our prayer that each person who attends have an experience of that Godly presence that brings life.

Our staff have had special experiences through rodeo ministry with a calling to this outreach.

LCRP President & General Manger, Mel Estess, with the Sulphur Police

Department in Sulphur, Louisiana enjoys doing whatever he can for the community and its people.

Serving two, four- year terms as a Sulphur City Councilman, Mel was honored with the opportunity to serve the people of his city. Past President of the Sulphur Rotary Club, and a member of West Cal Chamber of Commerce, he continues to enjoy community involvement and understands business involvement in the community and its rewards.

January 6, 1975, the year Mel received his salvation began a year of trials and great joy. Mel and his wife Billie, lost their youngest son Mark with sickness, and just a few months later their oldest son Mel Jr., was killed by a drunk teenage driver. Through this death, Mel led the teenager to the Lord who received a supernatural healing from insures from the accident. As they prayed together, God asked Mel to share with teenagers of His love for them everywhere he went.

Mel was honored that the Father expressed to him with a vision what He could do at an all Christian based rodeo. "I feel by this call that He has something very special to do in the rodeo community." says Mel.
